Dear Candy Hearter,

Thank you for writing for me, I look forward to reading your 'fic. My AO3 is Disworl. Herein lies my letter detailing a bit more of my specifications of my various requests.

Also, treats: yes, please.

General Do Not Wants:
Explicit Sex or Porn Without Plot (foreplay, fade to black, and other bits of suggestiveness are otherwise fine and encouraged), Omegaverse, Pregnancy (Male or otherwise), Kid 'fic, Non-con (unless the relationship is anagonistic in canon and therefore in line with that), Infidelity, Character Bashing, Issuefic (first definition on Fanlore), prepubescent underage (so, single digits underage), Entirely Chatlog 'Fic, Breakup 'Fic, Trans Angst focus, Transphobia being overtly depicted/directed at characters, Unreciprocated/Onesided of the Requested Relationships, 100% Yearning/Pining 'Fic.
General Likes: Earnest emotionality wherein the love felt by characters is readily apparent (as long as it's in line with the 'ship's tone and in character), gore/body horror/anything playing with an intersection of sex/romance/desire & death (as long as it's in believable for the 'ship), Character studies, Blending romantic and platonic love (relationships that defy that categorization, relationships that stay unified whilst flipping between one or the other, batshit codependent essentially married completely platonic best friends, best friend sex, et cetera).

Homestuck

Fandom Specific Do Not Wants: Permanent Major Character Death (Stuff like Aradia's temporary death does not count), Genderbends except for in Beta OT4 or M/F* JohnDirk (Trans woman J. Egbert is fine, but I give no fucks about the post-canon changes and the specific idea of "June" Egbert, so I use a different name like Joan), Anything leaning too hard on Hiveswap/Homestuck^2/The Homestuck Epilogues/Pesterquest because I haven't paid attention to those at all.

Fandom Specific Likes: A strong sense of place re: Alternia, Epistolary 'fic (so long as it's not just pesterblogs).

Solkat: I'm still 'shipping this in 2024 like a hopeless fucko in love - luckily, that works for these two! The way Sollux and Karkat relate to each other as two damned kids trying to get by in the uncertainty of Alternian society. They're at their best in a quadrant mush, because their feelings vacillate so hard, but it's clear that they have this intense connection their bickering can cover only so much. The awkward teenage boy kind of douchebaggy kindness.

Aradia & Karkat: I love Aradia so much, and I love Karkat so much too. MVP Aradia all the way, put threw the wringer of time but she ends up happy. Karkat's thing with blood isthat he connected people, but we never really saw him with Aradia, and I think that's a little bit of a missed opportunity. This bit at the end of Summerteen Romance always gave me the feeling that there could've been more of a friendship than what we'd seen: "Aradia, though. She was so important to our story and you killed her off before yours even started. [...] It just figures that the one friend who we had who might actually already be happy became a miserable ghost of her real self under your  leadership." ...If you read between Karkat's immense self-loathing, that is.

JohnDirk: Pranks and hijinks abound - two ridiculous brains being carried by meaty fleshbags being forced to be known and realize how absurd they both are. I like how their personalities can help them become better, break each other out of their bad habits.

ETA: Also a Scott Pilgrim AU with Dirk as Scott and John as Ramona?

For the whole Genderbend M/F* idea, I figure it'd play out like John/Joan realizing she's a woman/enjoys being a woman more well into their relationship (possibly after marriage) and then her and Dirk figuring out how to redefine and continue their relationship with her being a woman (albeit one who still feels tied to gay male culture) while Dirk remains a Chill Homosexual, eventually going with the whole "life's too short to pretend it's not more complicated than labels" route.

Beta OT4: Ohhh these kids mean so much to each other. I love an interpretation where their weird little bond kind of isolates them from other people, whether by the experience of the game in a recreated Earth (the way people envisioned it pre-Earth 3), or by other ways. Aspect symbolism or a sort of low-magic like that is also really cool.

Them being, in some ways, more personality-shapes, forces of their aspects or their titles (Heir of Breath, et cetera), and then having to reconcile that with their humanity is an idea I really like for an darker take.

Genderbends: are a favourite of mine for this group. Personally, how I like to view it is cis Prospit twins Joan Egbert and Jude Harley that lean towards gender nonconforming due to being raised or their father having been raised by trans Jack Crocker and Jana English, and trans Ross Lalonde and Dana Strider being raised by cis kind of femme* Rory Lalonde and butch Dirk Strider.
*By kind of femme I mean in more of a narrative way than gender presentation way. I see him as mildly metro, but he's still got the whole wine mom martini dad sex bomb thing going on.

Mom Egbert having a whole butch gentlewoman thing and partially passing that down to everywoman Joan, Jude Harley having a kind of feminine hippie aesthetic (still having long hair, switching between skirts and bell bottoms or something) while still playing into txoic masculinity masking his emotions beyond cheer and focusing on hypercompetence the way Jade does, elegant masculine Ross Lalonde struggling with Rory's negligence as a father despite his clear love for his son, especially since Ross was lucky enough to get a Kim Petras level early transition, Dana's post-ironic femininity and her belief that the physical "training" she gets is entirely necessary as a part of living in the world as a trans woman and more than an expression of Dirk's own trauma-borne paranoia grown from having grown up butch in the 80s/90s - that's all of stuff I see for them. Also while I still don't like trans angst to be the forefront of 'fic, obviously this idea will have to touch on it at least somewhat.

PsiiCon: The relationship so kinky TVtrollpes ran out of descriptors, or something like that. I feel a weird sort of affection, from the Condesce would be nice. You know, a sort of Hannibal-esque 'liking you is not mutually exclusive with hurting you' kind of deal. Maybe the Psiioniic comes to reciprocate in his own sort of way, and/or he's still torn by his attachment to the Signless, Dolorosa, and Disciple.

The Beatles

Fandom Specific Do Not Wants: SFF AUs, 'fic set before 1963, Genderbends/Trans Headcanons.

Fandom Specific Likes: Characters being fucking insane about each other while being unaware of how insane they are, Fluff, the work of maintaining a relationship.

McHarrison: There's just equal capacity for fluff and angst here... their closeness and also their distance. They're never beating the brother allegations... and, really, that brotherly relationship is the core here...the romance is just a cherry on top for me. Unlike the much mythologized relationship between John and Paul, the terribly ordinary and awkward one between Paul and George is incredibly compelling to me. To have known eachother for so long and from so early on, in hand with their conflict is certainly something.

An interesting idea is exploring a reality where their age difference is reversed (which normally wouldn't matter, but they're Them).

Paul mixing up their age difference with the one between him and Mike and George saying that their zodiac signs prevent them from getting along right after admitting he unironically enjoyed Give My Regards to Broad Street are always on my mind.

Beatles OT4: The four-headed monster. They way they were a little enmeshed group... it was a bit of them contrasted with the whole world, being the only people to know exactly what, well, being a Beatle was like, the graces and tolls alike. Like with all poly 'ships, examination of what each 1 on 1 dynamic is like is something I love to see, but the creepier, acting-like-one-person stuff is also something I'm in love with.

Slay the Princess

Fandom Specific Do Not Wants: Setting-Change AUs, Either version of the A New and Unending Dawn ending.

Fandom Specific Likes: Creepy/Twisted Fluff, their indomitable magnetism towards eachother, bullying the narrator, Not Really a Gender with she/her pronouns for The Princess/Shifting Mound and Not Really a Gender with he/him pronouns for The Hero/Long Quiet, Roleswap AUs.

The Hero/The Princess: I'm personally taking this to mean the Long Quiet/The Shifting Mound in the endgame, whether they become gods or go out the cabin, or just loop things forever. Either way, just seeing some more of their relationship in all its varied facets would be wonderful.
The Nightmare/The Hero: The Nightmare is my terrifying wife. The way her most human trait is her loneliness that splits her off from being a whole personification of fear and nothing else. And her personal philosphy about fear as a necessity is also cool as shit.

The Moment of Clarity/The Hero: And then she gets made even worse as the Moment of Clarity, having faced the mortifying ordeal of being known and then rejected... in that way, she becomes even more human. What Voice of the Paranoid said about no longer needing to stop organs from dying out of fear... in a way, it's kind of the horrifying pressing in so intimately it becomes mundane. I love futility as a narrative aspect, so her route really got to me.

Avatar: The Last Airbender

Fandom Specific Do Not Wants: Anything too based on comics or Korra canon, because I haven't paid attention to either, Major Character Death (Aang temporarily dying in "Crossroads of Destiny" doesn't count), Genderbends.

Fandom Specific Likes: Faffing about with bending, exploration of Aang's relationship to his culture.

Aang & The Gaang: I just love this kid so much and I love group dynamics and I like him being appreciated. Let him be with his friends!

Zukaang: Their relationship is so essential to the story of canon, even if for the longest time it's drawn out in parallels and motifs and implications. They are so important to each other on personal and narrative levels. You can write them as good (boy)friends, or go dark with them still being enemies. You can make them the same age or age them up if that helps your consicence, or not. I'm fine with or without the canon age dynamic.

Azulaang: I admit I'm not as well-versed in this 'ship but Azula is a very compelling character, and their whole speculative dynamic is pretty damn intriguing in the contrasts, and also hot. Same thing re: ages as Zukaang.

Zutaraang: My thoughts about Zukaang + wonderful Katara. I'm fine with it being a triangle or a V with Aang as the vertex. Like with all poly 'ships focusing on the unique dynamics between each members is wonderful, especially if you throw in messing about with romantic/platonic boundaries and each dynamic is a different notch on that scale.

Hannibal (TV)

Fandom Specific Do Not Want: Genderbends (except for Hannigail), Unreciprocated/Onesided Brownham, non-genderbent Hannigail (cis fem Hannibal/cis male Abigail), Major Character Death (Hannibal's in a Brownham 'fic doesn't count).

Fandom Specific Likes: Pretension, Some Stoned Vampired/Tell Me Will dialogue, Creepy/Twisted Fluff.

Matthew/Will: This is my indulgence semi-crack speculative 'ship. Mostly just a sort of softer, dedicated (though still probably obsessive) connection between these two back when Hannibal was at his height of Fuck Over Will Graham-iest. It can be bloody, or not! Depends on the morality of your Will, I guess. Matthew's awe and puppydog longing for Will is really cute, in a semi-creepy way, because this is still Hannibal.

Abigail/Hannibal: Yeah, so as my DNW implied, I'm only interested in this 'ship from a genderbent perspective. I feel like there's something interesting to be had with reversing the gender of the whole semi Electran thing going on with Hannibal's imposing older man/Abigail's young woman of wavering innocence vastly out of her depths - but without going stereotypical on the whole Oedipal/Mommy deal. I don't see fem Garrett Jacob Hobbs being much different from canon Garrett Jacob Hobbs aside from her sex/gender, and so male Abigail's relationship and the echoes on his relationship with fem Hannibal wouldn't drastically differ from the canon dynamic between Hannibal and Abigail.

The World's End

Fandom Specific Do Not Wants: Canon divergent 'fic where the apocalypse never happened.

Fandom Specific Likes: A clear sense of how much these characters mean to each other even if they don't say it, Andy POV.

Gary/Andy: The way they both hurt each other in their awkward teenage boyness (especially on Gary's side), and the loyalty that stuck through despite it all is so heart-wrenching and true. The sort of double-bladed sense of nostalgia is a big thing in this film, and I like to see that here. Major Character Death from the car accident where either of them dies is delicious food.

Community (TV)

Fandom Specific Do Not Wants: Genderbends, Major Character Death.

Fandom Specific Likes: 'Fics following canon's style, genre fuckery, a strong sense of place re: Greendale Community college.

Abed Nadir & Study Group: I just want to see Abed receive the support and care he deserves, and what he brings to the Study Group, essentially.
