I haven't mentioned it before, but Dreamwidth's in-site feature of being about to change the theme of whatever journal you're reading to multiple themes, in particular to themes you yourself have chosen or customized is a bloody godsend. It's a lot better than Tumblr--particularly some sections of Tumblr.

comments

Can't say I exactly understand the Journal style icon system--I'd been content to stick with my old default of Carrot--but I decided I might as well try it. Besides, it certainly gives me things to draw. The only downside i that I had to switch out Carrot for a drawing that more suited my actual demeanor.

comments

One of the things I'll actually hold Tumblr above Dreamwidth on is that Tumblr allows the storage and retrieval of multiple drafts. Of course, this is likely a non-feasible scope thing.

comments

As nice of a feature it is, I really don't think I'll be using Dreamwidth's multiple icons bit much, if at all. Being able to change icons for specific posts sounds really nice, but at the same time, I like consistency. I might do it here and there for 'fic, but I have a feeling that it would make looking at comment threads hell.

comments
